What does Justice Rising look like in 30 years?
In 2051, Justice Rising (JR) has long been established as a leading practitioner in education in emergencies (EiE). JR has in-country operations in over 20 countries spanning the Middle East and North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, Central and South America, and the Balkans.
JR has worked with governments through multilateral partnerships in rebuilding education systems post-conflict in every major conflict since 2035. Since 2015, JR has served 30 million children, trained over 1 million teachers, supported more than 100,000 schools, and provided infrastructure aid for 10,000+ schools. Through its technical and university programs, JR has successfully placed over 500,000 graduates in high-skilled jobs with local and international employers in collaboration with global partners such as the Mastercard Foundation.
Students attending JR schools, both in-network and partner schools, perform on average 10-15% better on national exit exams than their peers in non-JR schools, and 95% of JR students can read proficiently by the end of Primary 3. Over 90% of all students who study at JR schools for more than 5 years end up completing secondary school.
JR has been prolific in publishing original research in EiE, and has played a direct role in writing national education sector plans and education policy in numerous countries post-conflict. Through its publishing arm, JR has also published the works of local writers and academics/researchers, and digital content for schools.
Communities surrounding JR schools on average see a 30% increase in civic participation, a 20% decrease in conflict and violence, and overall better health outcomes.
JR regularly consults with the Inter-Agency Network for Education in Emergencies (INEE), Education Cannot Wait (ECW), UNICEF, Global Partnerships for Education (GPE), and is a regular contributor to the Global Education Monitoring (GEM) report. JR is also frequently asked to deliver keynote addresses at various global education conferences each year, and has been invited to present at the UN General Assembly and the World Economic Forum.
JR creates first global online education system for stateless people (unprecedented numbers of people are displaced due to conflict, faltering democracies, and climate-related migration)
JR has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for expanding education access and inclusion to the world’s most vulnerable student populations.
